DWS, Day 3, Sagamihara: “Grand finale” for China

After seven consecutive gold medals on day 1 and 2, the Chinese technique was again key in the last day of the first leg of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series, organised in Sagamihara (JPN), from March 1-3, 2019. The last three finals of the programme were once more won by representatives of the Asian powerhouse, who simply delighted the spectators on site.

PR 14 - ASWS: Japan and Ukraine conclude very successful event in Paris

Rio 2016 bronze medallist and soloist Yukiko Inui of Japan was the best in the individual events in Paris, France, from March 1-3, as the future host city was organising the inaugural leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019.

FINA Artistic Swimming Technical Committee holds innovation meeting in Paris

Artistic swimming is a traditional sport with a long-lasting history but the discipline continuously looks at improving and modernise.

As an important Olympic sport in the Summer Olympics programme since Los Angeles 1984, artistic swimming needs to stay attractive and evolve with its time to maintain the sports fans’ interest and to attract new generations of athletes.

In parallel to the first stage of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019 in Paris, France, from March 1-3, some of the world’s biggest experts in the discipline are holding major discussions.

ASWS 2019, Paris, Day 3: Ukraine tops duet free, France takes unique gold

FREE COMBINATION

Four international teams, as well as three national clubs from Lyon, Strasbourg and Aix took the plunge on this last competition day in Paris (FRA) on the occasion of the first leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019.

Eligible to the ranking were only the four international teams. Brazil happened to be the most convincing to earn the gold with 83.4333 points over a theme representing the super heroes.

ASWS 2019, Paris, Day 2: Japan takes second solo gold, as well as mixed duet free honours

SOLO FREE

Ninteen soloists*, international and clubs, offered a performance on the second competition day of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series in Paris, France, on Saturday March 2.

Being one of the two clear favourites of the event, Rio 2016 bronze medallist Yukiko Inui of Japan, 29, achieved 91.7667 for gold.

ASWS 2019, Paris, Day 1: Japan and Ukraine shine in solo, duet and team events

SOLO TECHNICAL

Eleven soloists, from Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria (3), Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Poland, Portugal and Spain took part in this morning’s first event, the solo technical in which the athletes had to execute FINA imposed technical elements in order to be eligible for the ranking.

Swietlana Szczepanska, 19, was the first to jump in the water this morning and secured the 8th position, accumulating 71.0615 points for her elegant routine.

DWS, Day 1, Sagamihara: China earns all four gold medals on offer

The first day of the opening leg of FINA/CNSG Diving World Series 2019 in Sagamihara (JPN) displayed an outstanding domination from the Chinese team, with the Asian powerhouse pocketing all the four gold medals at stake.

In the women’s 10m platform synchro, 14-year-old Zhang Jiaqi, who is the gold medallist in the same event at the 2018 Asian Games, paired with Lu Wei for China’s first success, earning gold in 340.44 points.
