PR 75 – Russia stands out at inaugural FINA World Youth artistic swimming championships

The 1st ever edition of the FINA World Youth Artistic Swimming Championships 2019, in which about 330 promising artistic swimming athletes aged between 13-15 years old took part, came to an end in Samorin (SVK) on Sunday September 1 after five days of demonstration of elegance and highly athletic skills.

PR 74 – Ambrosimov (RUS) and Cunha (BRA) prevail in Ohrid

Kirill Ambrosimov (RUS) and Ana Marcela Cunha (BRA) were the winners of the seventh leg of the 2019 FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series, staged in Ohrid Lake, in North Macedonia, on August 28. The Russian star needed 2h00m21s8 to complete the 10km-race, while the Brazilian ace touched home for gold in 2h11m38s4.

While this was the first victory of the year of Ambrosimov, Cunha has now four wins, after previous successes in Doha (QAT), Balaton (HUN) and Setubal (POR).

PR 73 – Young talents in quest of excellence in Slovakia

Around 330 young talents from 35 countries are ready to shine in the first edition of the FINA World Youth Artistic Swimming Championships, to be held in Samorin (SVK) from August 28 to September 1, 2019. The competition is open to athletes aged 13-15, born between 2004 and 2006.

PR 72 – Jr Worlds: Strong US team rules in Budapest (HUN)

The seventh edition of the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships, that saw more than 800 swimmers from 122 nations competing in the iconic “Duna Arena” concluded today in Budapest (HUN) and consecrated the USA as the “Best Team” of the competition. The North American delegation amassed 37 medals and led the medal table with a total of 18 gold, 10 silver and nine bronze medals. Individually, Andrei Minakov (RUS), among men, and Lani Pallister (AUS), in the women’s category, were the best swimmers of the event, held between August 20-25, 2019.

PR 71 - Reymond (FRA) and Franco (ITA), the fastest in Ohrid Lake (MKD)

Axel Reymond, from France, and Alice Franco, from Italy, were the winners of the fourth race of the 2019 FINA UltraMarathon Swim Series, taking place on August 24 in Ohrid Lake (MKD). Reymond needed 5h20m55s3 to complete the 25km-event, while Franco swam during 5h41m15s5 to get the gold medal. The six-leg circuit visited Argentina (races in Santa Fe and in Rosario, in February), Canada (Lac St-Jean in July), and will now proceed to Novi (CRO) and conclude in Capri/Napoli (ITA) on September 7.

PR 70 – Young swimming talents to be revealed in Budapest

The Hungarian capital, Budapest, is set to host yet another important milestone of the 2019 Aquatic calendar - the 7th edition of the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships from August 20-25.

Around 800 young promising swimmers aged between 15-18 (women) 14-17 (men) will be taking part in this six-day top-notch competition, which has seen many of today's big swimming stars make their debut in the sport.

PR 69 – The FINA World Masters Championships wrap-up in Gwangju (KOR)

PR 68 - SWC 2019: Morozov smashes three World Cup records in Singapore, Australia bags 14 golds

Vladimir Morozov of Russia continued to gear up at the third FINA Swimming World Cup leg in Singapore from August 15-17 as he smashed three World Cup records (WC) in the 50m / 100m free and the 50m back.

In the freestyle events, Morozov clocked times of 21.27 in the sprint and 47.88 in the 100m, while he also finished in 24.40 in the 50m back.
 
Lithuania's Danas Rapsys also set a new WC record in the 200m free as he touched home in 1:44.38. In addition, he won the 400m free race in 3:45.59.

PR 67 - SWC 2019: Swimmers head to last Asian leg in Singapore, as six WC records are broken in Jinan

Two weeks after the conclusion of the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, Korea, swimmers continue to impress at the FINA Swimming World Cup which second stops of the 2019 circuit concluded tonight in Jinan, China.

Six new and one equalled World Cup records (WC) were set in the Chinese city between Thursday August 8 and Saturday August. 10.

UPDATED PR 66- Rasovszky wins third back-to-back Marathon Swim World Series race in Lac Megantic

Kristof Rasovszky of Hungary, 22, made history on Saturday August 3 as he won his third consecutive race at the FINA/CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Lac Megantic, Canada, becoming the first swimmer ever to win both Canadian legs since 2011, when the two cities joined the programme of the Series.
