PR 11 - Germany, Russia and China rule Rostock Diving Grand Prix 2019

Germany, Russia and China were the most decorated teams this weekend in Rostock (GER) as the inaugural Diving Grand Prix 209 leg took place from February 14-17.

In the men's competition, home competitor Martin Wolfram clinched gold in the 3m springboard, collecting 417.35 points. Italy's Lorenzo Marsaglia (402.25) and China's Zhang Wenao (394.50) secured the silver and bronze medals at stake.

Russia's Viktor Minibaev won the platform event with 483.75 points, while Yuan Song (CHN, 482.95) and Oleksii Sereda (UKR, 453.75) completed the podium.

PR 10 - Cunha of Brazil and Wellbrock of Germany touch home first in Doha 10km race

Florian Wellbrock of Germany and Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil were the fastest today in Doha, Qatar, the inaugural leg of the FINA Marathon Swim Series 2019.

Wellbrock touched home first in 1h52m21s6, while Hungary's Kristof Rasovsky was second in 1h52m22s8. United States' Jordan Wilimovsky completed the podium, clocking a time of 1h52m24s4. Italy's long distance star Gregorio Paltrinieri was fourth in 1h52m28s1.

PR 9 - Swimming stars say “yes” to new Champions Series

With two and a half months to go to the kick-off of the brand new FINA “Champions Swim Series”, many swimming stars have already confirmed their participation in the three-leg competition, taking place on April 27-28 in Guangzhou (CHN), May 11-12 in Budapest (HUN) and May 31-June 1 in Indianapolis (USA).

Russia and Italy maintain lead in women's European prelims

Russia, Italy and the Netherlands dominated their respective games on Tuesday February 12 when the women's Water Polo World League Game Day 9 was played in Ruza (RUS), Mulhouse (FRA) and Budapest (HUN).

Group A's Russia beat the Israeli team 28-5, scoring six goals in the first two and last quarters of the game (6-2, 6-2, 1-0, 6-1). Russia has won all its matches since the beginning of the European qualification phase and has accumulated 17 points.

PR 5 - Italy sets the pace in Santa Fe, Italy sets the pace in Santa Fe, double gold for Argentinian hosts in Rosario

Italy and Argentina were the two big winners at the two inaugural legs of the FINA UltraMarathon Swim Series 2019 that were hosted in Santa Fe and Rosario, Argentina, on February 3 and February 9 respectively.

Italy clearly dominated the first leg in Santa Fe as Francesco Ghettini and Barbara Pozzobon claimed gold in the 15km race, clocking times of 3h19m00s68 and 3h20m41s96 respectively. The men's silver and bronze medals were also secured by Italian swimmers with Simone Ercoli (3h19m01s79) and Edoardo Stochino (3h19m03s94).

PR 4 - WPWL 2019: Hungary and Italy lead after thrilling victories

The Game Day 4 of the European preliminaries of the 2019 FINA Men’s Water Polo World League took place on January 29 in several cities and comprised six matches, with the home teams only winning two games.

In Group A, the Russian squad successfully received Malta and comfortably won by 23-4, the third win of the season. The Russians were always in control of the match (6-1, 5-2, 6-0, 6-1) and had in Ivan Nagaev their most prolific scorer, with seven goals.
