PR 16 - Hungary and the Netherlands rule their pool, six teams qualify to Europa Cup Final

The Game Day 10 of the FINA Women's Water Polo World League 2019, as part of the European qualification phase, was played last night (Tuesday March 5) in Szentes (HUN) and Rotterdam (NED) respectively.

The Hungarians, playing at home, defeated Italy 12-8 despite a tie in the first quarter (3-3, 3-1, 3-2, 3-2).

In Rotterdam, the Dutch crushed France 19-2, giving the French no chance as of the second quarter and until the end of the match (5-2, 4-0, 4-0, 6-0).

PR 15 – DWS 2019: China confirms world supremacy in Sagamihara (JPN)

The team of China confirmed its world supremacy by earning all the 10 gold medals on offer during the first leg of the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series, held in Sagamihara (JPN) on March 1-3, 2019. In both the men’s and women’s 3m springboard individual events, this domination even extended to the silver medal, with the Asian powerhouse concluding the meet with a total of 13 podium presences.

PR 14 - ASWS: Japan and Ukraine conclude very successful event in Paris

Rio 2016 bronze medallist and soloist Yukiko Inui of Japan was the best in the individual events in Paris, France, from March 1-3, as the future host city was organising the inaugural leg of the FINA Artistic Swimming World Series 2019.

PR 13 - DWS: Diving stars kick-off 2019 season in Japan

The 2019 FINA/CNSG Diving World Series, a competition exclusively open to the world's diving elite, with numerous World and Olympic champions taking part, will kick-off tomorrow in Sagamihara (JPN, March 1-3), one of the two new hosts of this year’s circuit which is expected to see over 260 divers throughout the season. The Series provides an additional opportunity for the divers to prepare for the 18th FINA World Championships 2019 in Gwangju (KOR) and the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, offering worldwide visibility through the broadcast agreements in place.

PR 11 - WPWL 2019: Convincing wins for Germany, Greece, Serbia and Spain

The European preliminaries of the FINA Men's Water Polo World League 2019 went underway in various European cities on Tuesday February 19, as five games were played.

Group A's leader Hungary narrowly beat the Russia by two goals (10-8), giving the Hungarians their fifth victory since the beginning of the season. Russia still offered a great defence with a tied second quarter (4-1, 2-2, 3-2, 1-3).

PR 11 - Germany, Russia and China rule Rostock Diving Grand Prix 2019

Germany, Russia and China were the most decorated teams this weekend in Rostock (GER) as the inaugural Diving Grand Prix 209 leg took place from February 14-17.

In the men's competition, home competitor Martin Wolfram clinched gold in the 3m springboard, collecting 417.35 points. Italy's Lorenzo Marsaglia (402.25) and China's Zhang Wenao (394.50) secured the silver and bronze medals at stake.

Russia's Viktor Minibaev won the platform event with 483.75 points, while Yuan Song (CHN, 482.95) and Oleksii Sereda (UKR, 453.75) completed the podium.

PR 10 - Cunha of Brazil and Wellbrock of Germany touch home first in Doha 10km race

Florian Wellbrock of Germany and Ana Marcela Cunha of Brazil were the fastest today in Doha, Qatar, the inaugural leg of the FINA Marathon Swim Series 2019.

Wellbrock touched home first in 1h52m21s6, while Hungary's Kristof Rasovsky was second in 1h52m22s8. United States' Jordan Wilimovsky completed the podium, clocking a time of 1h52m24s4. Italy's long distance star Gregorio Paltrinieri was fourth in 1h52m28s1.

PR 9 - Swimming stars say “yes” to new Champions Series

With two and a half months to go to the kick-off of the brand new FINA “Champions Swim Series”, many swimming stars have already confirmed their participation in the three-leg competition, taking place on April 27-28 in Guangzhou (CHN), May 11-12 in Budapest (HUN) and May 31-June 1 in Indianapolis (USA).
