SWC 2019, Jinan, Day 1: Chinese leg kicks-off with two records shattered

The FINA Swimming World Cup 2019 second leg kicked-off on Thursday, August 8, in Jinan, China as swimmers kept their rhythm after the FINA World Championships in Gwangju last month and performed on the same level in Jinan.

In the women's 400m free, Erica Sullivan from the United States came from behind to win the race in 4:08.70. China’s Bi Wenxin trailed in 4:10.23, while China’s Dong Jie ranked third in 4:11.32.

World top swimmers gather in Jinan for Swimming World Cup

Four days after the FINA Swimming World Cup 2019 first leg ended in Tokyo, Japan, top swimmers didn’t stop their pace and came to Jinan, China to continue their season.

The FINA Swimming World Cup 2019, which is held in 50m pool and all legs are qualifying events to the Olympics, includes seven legs in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Jinan is the second leg of the Series which runs from August 8-10.
